A brief history and leadership overview of Seva Sadan.
Late Shri Parsram Parumal Dabrai
FounderA philanthropist who believed in simple living and high thinking. After the partition, he dedicated his life to uplifting refugees and underserved communities, and laid the foundation for Seva Sadan’s educational mission.
History of Seva Sadan
Founded in the late 1940s, Seva Sadan began as a charitable initiative to support families displaced by partition. Early efforts focused on women’s self-reliance through free tailoring classes, which provided skills, certificates, and even sewing machines to economically disadvantaged families.
In 1950, the first school—New Era High School—was started to provide quality education to refugee children. The institution grew steadily, with permanent facilities built in the 1950s and the first SSC batch appearing in 1958.
Over the decades, Seva Sadan expanded into junior and degree education, teacher training, and multiple institutes across Ulhasnagar, with a strong emphasis on inclusive access, community service, and long-term social impact.
